Airports are the place to see raw emotion. Last night, I saw so many different things:

-- Fear -- A woman was trying to make a cruise in Florida, and had a connecting flight in Chicago. She met a family on the exact same itinerary, who had boarding passes for the connecting flight. She didn't have boarding passes. The fear of losing out on the cruise made her...

-- Nervous -- A guy was trying to get on a red-eye flight to New York. He was so worried about getting the seat that he hovered by the check-in counter. His hovering pretty much dissolved any possible organization at the counter, making people...

-- Mad -- It always surprises me when people don't realize that without a boarding pass, you aren't checked-in for a flight. My flight was oversold by 26 people. No one was feeling very...

-- Cheerful -- Except for the UK-born airline counter employee, who was making jokes, and very matter-of-factly stating the obvious to people in a pretty carefree way. His delivery still left one woman...

-- Upset -- A woman waited for standby on the New York flight, and when she got her boarding pass, she had to wait to board because there was only one employee working the door and the desk. She went to use the washroom, and when she came back, the flight was closed. She was very upset.

All these emotions, and I had a front row seat. I watched the aggrevation as 300 people rushed to board a plane to Australia. I experience the annoyance as a few drunk passengers were way to obnoxious while waiting to board. People watching is always fun.

I get a rest next week, a bit, and I'm in Chicago, at least for Monday.

Have a good weekend.
